Sabrina Simmons appointed chief financial officer in Gap Inc

An American clothing and accessories retailer, Gap Inc., has appointed Sabrina Simmons its chief financial officer.

Simmons took over Byron Pollitt’s post after the latter left for CFO post in Visa Inc.

She joined Gap almost seven years ago as vice president and treasurer. Her previous places of work are Sygen International PLC and Levi Strauss & Co.

Among other changes (last year) are:

- January 23, 2007, of CEO Paul Pressler for Robert J. Fisher.

- February 2, 2007, of Cynthia Harriss for Marka Hansen, a 20-year veteran of the company who headed the Banana Republic unit.

- July 26, 2007, Glenn Murphy announced as the new CEO of Gap Inc.
