The released hostages are in normal condition
According to latest information, terrorists have released some of the hostages. At first they released three women with babies. Latest news reports say the gunmen freed 26 women and children.
Ingushetia's ex-president Ruslan Aushev drove up to the school building in a bus to take the hostages away, Reuters reports. SkyNews channel broadcast a live report, showing camouflaged military men carrying babies to safety. One of the released women and her child have been hospitalized, the special headquarters told RIA Novosti.
A spokesman for the North Ossetian government Lev Dzugayev told reporters that the negotiations resumed an hour ago. “As a result we agreed to release three women with babies,” Dzugayev said.
The released hostages are in normal condition, although it is obvious that they have been morally exhausted.
Two explosions roared near the seized school at 3:20 p.m., CNN said. The hostage-takers shelled vehicles near the school. Clouds of black smoke can be seen above the building. Two cars are burning next to the building, AFP reports. The smoke is coming from the burning cars. Terrorists opened shell fire at the time, when pediatrician Roshal was supposed to contact the insurgents directly and enter the seized school.
