Chiefs of Moscow Metro police pay for crimes of their subordinates

Several chiefs of Moscow Metro police were dismissed from their posts in the end of last week.
Vremya Novostei newspaper reported that the high-ranking policemen were dismissed because of the crimes which were allegedly committed by the policemen working in Moscow Metro.

Recently, several cases of policemen abusing their power, took place in Moscow metro.  
    
On July 31, a policeman shot at Tajik man Rustam Baibekov who had no official registration in Moscow,  when the man tried to enter Sokolniki Metro station with no ticket.

The Tajik man marvelously survived, the bullet passed through his mouth and neck and got stuck in his back.

The police sergeant who shot the man, was arrested.
     
  
In June another policeman who had beaten to death the passenger at Nakhimovsky Prospect Metro station, was accused of “inflicting bad damage to one’s health which caused the death of a victim".
     
On August 7 the police officers from the police inner security department arrested the three policemen from Pechatniki police station who had allegedly beaten a Tatar man to death.

There is some information on the newly appointed police chiefs. Colonel Alexander Prokopovich became the new Chief of the Criminal Police of Moscow metro. His predecessor Valery Motorin has not been offered a new position so far.
     
Colonel Nokolai Moiseev replaced Lepnty Slavikovsky at the post of the Chief on Personnel.
     
In addition, major Sergey Vorobiev was appointed Chief of Investigation Department, and lieutenant colonel Alexander Zhukov was appointed Chief of Moscow Metro Criminal Police.
