A 7-year-old boy died as a result of a grenade explosion in a courtyard next to his apartment building.
Regional press services informed “Interfax” of the incident.
The tragedy took place on Saturday of last week on Lenin Street. The boy was playing in the courtyard by himself. He picked up a strange object from underneath an automobile (Ford) which had recently left its parking place.
The object turned out to be a hand grenade, supposedly RGD-5, which had detonated right in the child's hands.
According to the local police, the grenade was purposely placed under the car by unknown criminals who intended to kill the car's owner. Allegedly, the man is a businessman, who lives in the same building as the little boy.
This is an ongoing case based on clause 105 of criminal code of the Russian Federation (manslaughter).
