Heavy Bombardment of Baghdad Begins - 26 March, 2003

Another heavy bombardment of Baghdad has just begun. Rosbalt's correspondent reports that at least 15 bombs have exploded in the centre of Baghdad. One bomb accidentally fell on a building adjacent to a mosque. There is information yet on casualties, but the city's air raid warning system is known to have worked. According to Syrian radio, the US air force is currently also carrying out bombing raids on Iraqi territory close to the Syrian border.
