Happy Birthday UNO. Sorry, I forgot the gift

It was the sixty-seventh anniversary of the United Nations Organization on October 25. Do we actually have anything to celebrate? Has the United Nations Organization lived up to its expectations? Has it managed to defend its Charter? No? Then forgive me for not bringing a present... because it does not deserve one.

October 25, 1945. The birth of the United Nations Charter. What? You know, that pile of paper not worth even lying on the floor beside the toilet. Noble words, great ideas, wonderful ideals but in fact, and pardon my French, piss and wind, hype and hyperbole. In plain English, a load of crap. Should anyone be offended by these words, then let me go further.

The United Nations Organization is a reasonably good institution when it comes to distributing food, protecting minorities, defending women's rights and raising awareness about cultural heritage. On the purely theoretical level. As an instrument of intervention, however, it is utterly useless.

When the going gets tough, when NATO in general and more recently, the FUKUS Axis (France, UK, US) in particular, decide to invade a country, breach the UN Charter, break international law, murder, destroy civilian structures with military hardware, support terrorists who rape, pillage, loot, commit arson, commit sodomy, commit rape, who torch buildings, torture people, desecrate bodies and churches, what does the UNO do?

Nothing much. It calls for peace, looks the other way, suddenly becomes fascinated with its fingernails and it whistles. What did the UNO do when the United States of America, its master (claiming it foots most of the bills), decided to invade Iraq because the Bush regime and its poodles in Europe felt like setting up a strategic base in oil-rich, uncharted territory?

Nothing much. What did the UNO do when two years previously, a multi-national force was sent into Afghanistan because of 9/11? Did the UNO actually investigate 9/11, especially the "aircraft" which flew into the Pentagon and the mysterious flight that simply vaporised, all two hundred tonnes of it? What did the UNO do to ascertain the truth?

Nothing much. What did the UNO do when the FUKUS Axis decided to trash the Jamahiriya State in Libya? What did the UNO do when the FUKUS Axis performed a spectacular mission creep, breaching the terms of UNSC Resolutions 1970 and 1973 (2011)? What did the UNO do when the FUKUS Axis had the Libyan water supply bombed and the electricity grid strafed? When NATO warplanes were deployed against the Gaddafi grandchildren? When NATO military equipment was used against civilian structures?

Nothing much. What is the UNO doing today to stop NATO's and the FUKUS Axis' terrorists interfering in Syria? What is the UNO doing to stop Turkey harbouring terrorists and sending them over the frontier, what is the UNO doing to stop the FUKUS Axis supporting subversive terrorist elements inside Syria?

Nothing much. What did the UNO do when Swine Flu, sorry A H1N1, threatened to wipe out vast numbers of people worldwide? Did it take action, placing a cordon around the infected area, forbidding travel to and from the place, setting up quarantine zones? What exactly did the UNO do?

Nothing much. Then forgive me, I did not buy a present neither do I wish the UNO a happy birthday. I would rather see my money wasted somewhere else.

(Research idea: 1. See how much money the UNO and NATO use up. 2. The existence of NATO in European countries whose Constitutions do not allow unelected bodies to dictate foreign policy. 3. When the seeds of the UN in the US  were sown, and how).
