Macron: France, Germany, Italy and Romania to support Ukraine's status of EU member

France, Germany, Italy and Romania will support the granting of candidate status to the European Union for Ukraine. The corresponding position of the four European countries was announced by French President Emmanuel Macron, reports TASS.

“All four of us support the immediate assignment of candidate status,” the French head of state said at a joint press conference with the leaders of Germany, Italy and Romania.

According to him, the specified status for Kyiv will be accompanied by a road map, and the situation in the Balkans and neighboring countries, in particular, in Moldova, will also be taken into account.

Macron added that Paris plans to supply Ukraine with six more Caesar self-propelled 155-mm howitzers in addition to the 12 self-propelled guns sent earlier.

“In addition to the 12 Caesar self-propelled guns that have already been delivered, I have decided to send six more Caesars,” he said.
