The President of Kyrgyzstan Atambayev, who is going to leave his post in a year, has claimed that the Russian military base would be withdrawn from the country after the agreement expires as the country should rely on its own forces.

Alexander Sobianin, Head of Strategic Planning Department of the Association for trans-border cooperation commented Pravda.Ru on the issue.

First of all, there's no necessity. Second, there are no prerequisites. Third, the base should not be withdrawn in no case. On the contrary, Russian presence should be extended to the south of the country.

Atambayev said it will be withdrawn in 7 or 8 years. This attempt would destroy the whole system of the Eurasian security. No one will let it happen.

The statement is surely unfriendly but nothing will follow it in practice. Atambayev is a romantic and impulsive person. He has said controversial things many times during his political career.

Russia will not react, unless there is a written request. And taking into account inner situation in Kyrgyzstan and its policy, there will be none of such.
