Russia and China create challenger to Boeing and Airbus

Russia and China are working upon an innovative project of a wide-body aircraft, which will compete with Boeing and Airbus planes.

The prospect of the project and China's involvement have been discussed with Dmitry Rogozin, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia.

Rogozin visited the Irkutsk aviation plant with Wang Yang, Vice Premier of the People's Republic of China and showed him technological environment needed for the project.

Construction of the new mid-range Yak-242 has been revealed as well.

Assembly of the newest plane is on the home staight.
