The senior Iranian military officials accuse the US of creating the Islamic State.
The terrorist organization is reported to have been created in order to redraw the map of the Middle East.
The given indictment was brought in by the senior commander of Iran's Armed Forces.
Brigadier General Massoud Jazzayeri, the deputy chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces claimed that the Sunni group, notorious for its brutality, "is the product of the thoughts and acts of the US state-sponsored terrorism."
The United States unleashed the Islamic State on the region to create a new Middle East by fueling "uncertainty in the resistance front and the nations' awakening, culture and civilization and resources of the regional countries' progress and [weakening] the Muslims in all fields with the help and alliance of the regional hirelings," the general underlined.
The Islamic Republic has long accused the United States of backing terrorists. Earlier this month, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei called the United States a "supporter and plotter of terrorism."
The US weapon business though seems to thrive. The US is now shipping anti-tank missiles to Iraq to destroy the US-provided tanks abandoned to ISIS by the Iraqi military.
