In India, local authorities have intercepted a spy pigeon from Pakistan. The Indian authorities do not seem to be catching up very well with state-of-the-art intercept technologies. Instead, they discover secret messages on birds.
A 14-year-old boy from the village of Pathankot, Punjab state, caught the white pigeon after the bird had crossed from Pakistan earlier this week. The boy brought the bird to police, who found a message in the Urdu language and numbers that authorities believe were part of a landline telephone number in Pakistan's Narowal district.
Afterwards, the police sent the bird to get x-rayed. Officials later said that there was nothing adverse found, but the bird was left in custody, they added. What happened to the bird and how India is going to report the discovery to Pakistan remains unknown.
