A resident of the town of Shilka in Trans-Baikal region of Russia's Far East, won a lawsuit against the district hospital, where her baby died during childbirth. The woman will get a million rubles in moral damages.

According to prosecutors, when pregnant, the woman would regularly visit the hospital for routine examinations. She was admitted to hospital on March 12, 2012, and nine days later, she gave birth to a dead boy. The baby was strangled by the umbilical cord.

It turned out that the obstetrician had not checked the condition of the fetus before childbirth, which caused the death of the baby.
