18-month-old child receives HIV-positive blood during transfusion

 

Investigation has been filed into the case of infecting an 18-month-old child in Russia's St. Petersburg with HIV through blood transfusion.

The incident took place at the Children's Clinical Hospital No. 5 in St. Petersburg, when the child received blood from an HIV-positive donor.

The criminal investigation continues. Currently, a complex of necessary measures is being conducted to establish circumstances of the incident.
