Ukraine is going to take a legal action against Russia to return the Crimea, Ukrainian Finance Minister Natalya Yaresko said at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Can Ukraine achieve its goal and what international instruments can Kiev use in this plan? Pravda.Ru asked an expert opinion from lawyer Dmitry Agranovsky.
"Kiev's chances to succeed in the return of the Crimea are zero. This is nothing but talking. Ukraine is trying to sponsors that it is trying to do something, so their money comes for something," the expert told Pravda.Ru.
"The sitting government of Ukraine is a group that came to power in a coup. How can this group win any legal action at all," Dmitry Agranovsky wondered.
"Should any international judicial body make a decision in favor of Ukraine, Russia will only need to pull out from the body that deliberately makes wrongful decisions. Time is still working for us, Ukraine has nowhere to go, and everything will be just fine," the lawyer said.
