New Russian helicopter to fly twice as fast as conventional rotorcraft

Russian engineers began working on a new helicopter. The new chopper will be able to fly 1.5-1.8 times faster than conventional rotorcraft thanks to its new engines, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Commander of the Air Force Colonel General Viktor Bondarev.

"I will not expose all the details. I can only say that the helicopter will have a very good engine," said Bondarev at a press conference on the eve of the Air Force Day, when asked about the status of the development of a promising high-speed helicopter.
