Hackers try to steal 5bln roubles from Russian banks

Deputy Head of the Chief Directorate of Data Security and Defence of the Bank of Russia Artyom Sychyov reported that the volume of Russian banks' means hackers attempted this year has made up 5bln roubles.

According to him, real losses of banks which were not saved have made up 2bln roubles since the beginning of the year.

By the end of year there will be a peak of cyber attacks. Today banks daily report about 5-6 malicious programs.

As Pravda.Ru reported, a year ago Russian law-enforcement bodies managed to detain an international group of hackers that planned to steal money of almost all of the Russian banks. Theft of over 1.5bln roubles was prevented.

According to experts, hackers daily attack the Russian companies, each of which loses about 480,000 roubles.
