At least 500 Ukrainian refugees flee to Crimea daily

On Wednesday, July 2, Chairman of the State Council of the Crimea, Vladimir Konstantinov, told reporters that as many as 500 refugees from Ukraine's Donbass arrive on the peninsula every day.

"The situation is very tense. We have roughly about 500 people coming to the Crimea every day," said Konstantinov.

The republic will continue to accept refugees, he noted, despite the fact that the region faces other major challenges associated with the transitional period, RIA Novosti reports.

"They are our compatriots, and we will help them. We will provide assistance to refugees, and we will do the best we can," said the head of the republican parliament.
