Kiev does not allow evacuation of pregnant women and children from Slavyansk

Battles near Slavyansk continue. The Ukrainian troops shelled a hospital in the town of Krasny Liman, where wounded fighters of self-defense forces were staying. At least 24 people  were killed, the speaker of the parliament of the People's Republic of Donetsk, Denis Pushilin said.  

According to him, it is impossible to receive precise information on the number of victims as the town has been blockaded. "This is genocide, no other words can describe it," he said.

According to militia, self-defense forces have downed three helicopters, as well as a Su-25 fighter jet.

The troops of the security forces of Ukraine outnumber the fighters of people's militia units. The Ukrainian troops were ordered to destroy unarmed people, including women and children.

The People's Republic of Donetsk tries to evacuate civilians from the are of the combat actions. "Kiev does not make it possible to evacuate either pregnant women or children from Slavyansk. I do not know what kind of a human being one should be to give and execute such orders," Pushilin said.

The Donetsk Airport remains under the control of the Ukrainian forces, Pushilin said. Snipers still operate in the area of the airport, not letting anyone to remove dead bodies from the battlefield.
