India willing and able to invest in Russia's Crimea

 

A group of Indian businessmen will soon visit the Crimea, following the meeting between the head of the republic Sergei Aksenov and representatives of business circles of India.

Deputy Prime Minister of Russia's Crimea, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Crimea under the Russian President, Georgy Muradov, said that "Indian business was greatly interested in the Crimea. According to him, Indian entrepreneurs are interested in implementing investment projects. Therefore, it was agreed that several groups of Indian businessmen would come to the Crimea for negotiations. A group of Indian journalists is to come to the Crimea as well, TASS reports. 

Sergei Aksenov, the head of the Republic of Crimea, has finished his first trip to a foreign country, as he accompanied Russian President Putin during his visit to India.

During Aksenov's visit to India, the parties signed the Memorandum of Understanding between India and the Crimea. The program on the Indo-Crimean partnership was signed as well. 

As for priority areas of cooperation between India and the Crimea, Aksenov named the sheer of tourism. "I am confident that Indian businessmen are interested in the construction of hotels on the territory of the Republic of Crimea, as well as in the formation of the flow of tourists from India to the Crimea, - he said at a news conference after signing the document. - I am certain that we can create proper conditions for a friendly country and we will be able to welcome the Indians with dignity and respect," the official said.

Washington was extremely dissatisfied with the Sergei Aksenov's trip to India. According to US State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki, the USA was very troubled by reports that said that Aksenov could be a member of the Russian delegation to India.
