Russians to eat crocodile meat from Philippines

Russian Federal Agency for Sanitary Control, Rosselhoznadzor, allowed Philippine-based company Coral Agri-ventures Farm, Inc. to supply frozen crocodile meat to Russia.

The company will thus be added on the register of the countries eligible for deliveries to the territory of the Customs Union.

Previously, the Philippines did not supply crocodile meat to Russia.

Crocodile meat is popular in South-East Asia, Australia, Africa and the Caribbean region.

In addition, Canadian shrimp, the shipments of which were banned in Russia, are likely to be replaced with Nicaraguan shrimp. The country is interested in the inflow of foreign investment and supplies of products to Russia.
