India modernizing its Russian MiG-29 fleet

The Indian Air Force will equip its Russian MiG-29 tactical fighters with a new onboard radar system. The 69 Soviet fighters, bought in the late 1980s and early 1990s, are being modernized under the MiG-29UPG programme.

The upgraded MiG-29UPG planes will be able to attack ground targets and ships, either stationary or moving, at any time of day or night, regardless of weather conditions.
