Sasha Pivovarova, a Russian model, is the face of many luxury brands. A former student of the History Department of the Russian State University for Humanities, she is now a well-known guest of many fashion magazines. Sasha says that world fame was a sheer accident. A few years ago, in February 2005, one of her friends, a photographer, showed Sasha’s best pictures to IMG, a famous New York modeling agency. IMG managers were intrigued by her unusual, sassy and sexy face. To start modeling, Sasha had to quit school and leave Moscow for New York. The 23-year-old supermodel, who never studied modeling and who learned the skill while working, says that she immensely enjoys working in Paris and other cities. However, she misses her family and friends in Moscow. “Paris is a wonderful city with a very special atmosphere. But Moscow is much closer to my heart. I spent my childhood there, my spirit and life is in Moscow,” says Pivovarova.
