British police charge man possessing Qaida manual

Police investigating the July 7, 2005, London transit bombings charged a man, possessing an al-Qaida training manual.

Khalid Khaliq, 34, is expected to appear in Westminster Magistrates Court on Monday to face a charge of possessing the manual, which authorities say would be useful to people preparing a terrorist act.

Khaliq, from the Beeston area of the northern city of Leeds, was arrested May 9 with three others, including the widow of the alleged ringleader of the transit attacks, which killed 52 commuters and the four bombers.

Hasina Patel, 29, the wife of Mohammed Sidique Khan, and two others were released without charge last week.

In April, three people were charged with conspiring with the attackers - the first charges filed since the bombings.
