British Airways Flight Attendants To Resume Strike Action

British Airways Plc’s 12,000 cabin crew are free to resume strike action over pay and staffing levels after a court overturned a ruling blocking the walkout.

Flight attendants could start a five-day strike as early as next week after the Court of Appeals in London said the Unite union’s failure to provide members with a breakdown of ballot results didn’t render the vote on stoppages invalid, Bloomberg reports.

BA in a statement said it was disappointed with the Court of Appeal decision and would implement contingency plans to allow it to operate 60% of its long-haul schedule and 50% of its short-haul schedule from London's Heathrow Airport, comprising 70% of the customers who were booked to fly over the period targeted by the strike.

Schedules from Gatwick and London City airports are unaffected, Wall Street Journal informs.
