Ireland Resumes Flights with Rest of Europe

Flights between Ireland and the rest of Europe will resume from 1pm following earlier disruption because of ash from the Icelandic volcano. The Irish Aviation Authority took the decision after reviewing the movement of the ash plume.

Airports in both the Republic and Northern Ireland had been affected. Passengers are still advised to check airline websites, RTE.ie reports.

Flights from continental Europe will not be affected by the plume of ash from Iceland's volcano Eyjafjallajokull, which caused travel chaos when it forced the closure of much of Europe's airspace for almost a week last month.

The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) and UK's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) are monitoring the latest situation after it was predicted ash concentrations would exceed acceptable engine manufacturer tolerance levels, Telegraph informs.
