Security forces shot dead two suspected militants Monday in a northwestern Pakistan tribal region after a grenade attack wounded five soldiers, an official said.
The troops were patrolling a bazaar in the town of Mir Ali in North Waziristan when one of the two assailants hurled at grenade at them, a local government official said on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to make media comments.
Troops opened fire on the two attackers, killing them, he said.
