Sean Stewart admits no guilt in assault charges

Rod Stewart's son pleaded not guilty to assaulting a couple who say he and others punched and threw bricks at them outside a Hollywood Hills party.

Sean Stewart, 27, entered his plea in Los Angeles Superior Court Thursday.

He faces two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count each of throwing a substance at a vehicle and vandalism with more than $400 (280 EUR) damage.

After arriving about 25 minutes late for the hearing, Stewart was warned not to be late when he attends the next one in November.

"People have to come to court on time," Superior Court Judge Stephen A. Marcus told him. "I'm not waiting for defendants."

A message left with Stewart's attorney was not immediately returned.

Stewart, one of the stars of the A&E cable show "Sons of Hollywood," was arrested in June.

The couple, Tobalus and Ericka Stein, claim Stewart and others riding in a Rolls-Royce Phantom confronted them, then began punching and throwing bricks at them and their vehicle outside the party.
