Theater district restaurants in NYC try to restore business

The theater district restaurants that have lost business during the strike by Broadway stagehands try to resume its work: From Saturday through Nov. 25, diners will get a 15 percent discount.

More than 25 restaurants are participating in the special program, designed to draw diners to restaurants that usually draw most of their business from theater crowds.

The striking stagehands and theater producers are set to meet for talks Saturday, a week after most theaters went dark.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg said: "While we hope that an agreement will be reached as soon as possible, I encourage New Yorkers and visitors to take advantage of this great deal and help support restaurants that have been affected by the strike."

The list of restaurants is available at www.nycvisit.com.
