Rare Photo of Marilyn Monroe with John F. Kennedy Up for Sale for $23,000

A rare image of Marilyn Monroe with President John F. Kennedy and his brother Robert F. Kennedy together taken at JFK's 45th birthday celebration was unveiled to the public Tuesday and is now up for sale, according to media reports.

The black-and-white photo, the only known photograph of Kennedy and Monroe together, was taken by White House photographer Cecil Stoughton on May 19, 1962 at an exclusive Manhattan after-party.

In the photo, Monroe still wears the tight-fitting, sheer rhinestone-studded dress she wore when saying her sulty rendition of "Happy Birthday" to the president on the same night at Madison Square Garden, according to Xinhua.

Now, one of the only pictures of them together is up for sale.

The unique photo of Monroe and the President was taken in 1962 at an exclusive Manhattan after-party, following Monroe's infamous rendition of 'Happy Birthday' during celebrations for President Kennedy at Madison Square Gardens.

The photo, which is on sale for $US23,000, provides an intimate glimpse of the pair together, along with Kennedy's brother Bobby, whom was also rumoured to have had an affair with Monroe, BigPond News reports.
