Four people killed in bomb blast in Kabul

Four people were killed in a bomb blast south of the Afghan capital.

The blast occurred in the Musayi district of Kabul province, but it was not immediately clear if the explosion was caused by a newly planted bomb or an old landmine, regional police commander Gen. Zalmai Oryakhail said.

Three civilians died in the blast and a fourth died on the way to the hospital, Oryakhail said.

Militants often plant roadside bombs, but they usually target Afghan or international security forces.

Afghanistan is littered with unexploded ordnance after decades of war and strife, and landmine accidents are common.
