A newborn baby boy, Angel Miguel Perez, was snatched from his mother's car, which she left for less than five minutes.

The mother had also run errands at Walmart, Ross, and other locations before heading to the post office. Police are looking through the surveillance tapes to see if anyone followed her to the post office in order to steal the young baby.

A black female was seen walking across the parking lot carrying an infant. The suspect was driving a charcoal to dark gray four-door compact car, possibly with a rear spoiler.

The mother parked her car right next to the post office, and left the car idling as she ran in to purchase stamps, Examiner.com reports.

News agencies also report, a one month old baby taken from his mother's car in North Charleston is now safe. Lydia Juarez and Miguel Perez-Palma saw their one month old, Angel Miguel Perez for the first time since Monday outside MUSC early Wednesday morning. Earlier on Tuesday, the parents had joined police to plead to the public in helping find Angel Perez who had gone missing Monday.

During a press conference Wednesday morning, Spencer Pryor of the North Charleston Police Department said that they have a suspect Andrea Samone Walker, 19, of Goose Creek in custody and charged her with kidnapping. According to authorities, the suspect was watching the mother and child for sometime and then saw an opportunity to take the child at the post office on Rivers Avenue.

Investigators say they received numerous calls but two calls provided authorities with solid leads with police finding the suspect and then infant at an apartment at Grove Apartments in Summerville around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Mayor Summey said, "It was truly a team effort to make this happen. Thank you to the media, and the general public who are the life link," ABC News reports.

It was also reported, a 19-year-old woman was arrested and charged with kidnapping, Pryor said. Police identified her at a Wednesday news conference as Andrea Simone Walker and said she began following the baby's mother, 26-year-old Lidia Juarez, at some point on Monday.

Juarez said she stopped at a North Charleston post office on Monday afternoon and left the infant in the car with its engine running while she went inside to buy stamps.

Juarez told police she was in the post office less than five minutes. When she came back to her car, her son was gone.

A woman was spotted running across the parking lot with a baby, FOXNews reports.
