Bon-Ton Stores Inc to close its distribution center in Green Bay

The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: BONT), a regional department store company, is going to shut down its distribution center in Green Bay and consolidate functions into distribution centers in Whitehall, Pa., Fairborn, Ohio, and Rockford, Ill.

The consolidation will influence 27 employees, who will be offered either transfer to nearby stores or pay-out of career transition benefits.

Bon-Ton Stores, Inc is chiefly operating 268 department stores in 23 states throughout the northern United States. The closure of Green Bay distribution center is required to improve the company’s efficiency.
