Finmeccanica and DRS Technologies in talks over purchase

Finmeccanica S.p.A., an Italian conglomerate company, is currently in talks to purchase the U.S. defense contractor DRS Technologies.

A supplier of defense electronic products and systems was offered a 3.5-billion-euros ($5.41 billion) bid from Finmeccanica.

Both companies had a meeting on Saturday to discuss the bid, but no definite result or conclusive decision was disclosed.
