General Motors to resume production at Wentzville assembly plant

General Motors Corp. is going to resume Monday the work of its Wentzville, Mo., assembly plant.

Earlier this year the work of the plant was suspended for two months due to the strike by United Auto Workers against American Axle Manufacturing and Holdings Inc. The strike is still going on. American Axle is the General Motors’ provider of auto parts.

All the information about the potential new provider to GM was not disclosed.

The facility is engaged in producing the Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans. The plant has 1,864 hourly employees and 175 salaried employees.
