Europe to destroy terrorists with Assad's help

The foreign ministers of the European Union failed to agree on the extension or lifting of the embargo on arms supplies to rebels in Syria. The parties have found Jesuit solution: the lack of agreement on the extension of embargo de facto means its lifting. German special services immediately sent to the Middle East bulletproof vests for terrorists.

According to Spiegel magazine, thanks to these deliveries Federal Intelligence and Counterintelligence of Germany (Bundesnachrichtendienst, BND) hopes to obtain information on the military situation in Syria first-hand. To this day, German analysts had to rely on the information obtained from informants and their means of electronic surveillance.

According to some reports in the German press, recently chief of the BND Gerhard Schindler radically revised the assessment of the situation in Syria provided earlier by his subordinates. Based on the statements of senior officers who deserted the Syrian army, intelligence service in Germany predicted the imminent collapse of the regime of Bashar al-Assad. In mid-March, Schindler confidently stated in an interview that the days of the Assad regime were numbered, however, did not name the exact date of the expected collapse.

Today German scouts report that during the past weeks the Syrian government army managed to turn the tide in their favor. The opponents of Assad, on the contrary, are rapidly losing their precarious position. The Syrian government has the capacity to control weapons traffic and ways of fuel delivery, which their opponents do not have. Spiegel Online, citing its sources in the BND, reported that by the end of this year, the Syrian government forces would control most of the country. If the conflict continues at least a few more weeks, the legitimate government of Syria would regain control over the entire south of the country, and the rebels would have to retire in disgrace through the northern territory.

The military leaders of insurgent terrorists urged the West to renew the supplies of anti-tank weapons and air defense systems as soon as possible. Britain and France have heeded the pleas of the newly emerged Mujahideen. Germany has been resisting so far, indicating that it was not ready to surrender to the will of the rebels.

German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle who once again warned the EU against the danger of weapons getting in the wrong hands said that Germany refused to supply the rebels with weapons at this time. It is not clear what kind of assistance will be provided to rebels by Britain and France. The President of the Fifth Republic, as always, is ambiguous, and the Foreign Office is considering sending military advisers to Syria. This is discussed behind closed doors. Prior to June the main flow of arms for Syrian terrorists was supplied by the Gulf countries, mainly Qatar, with the silent agreement of the United States.

U.S. President Barack Obama also fears that anti-aircraft missiles would fall into the hands of Islamic extremists, but tacitly allows the military support of Assad's enemies. In a conversation with Westerwelle, Israel's Prime Minister admitted that his government was also concerned about the activity at its borders.  

According to a correspondent of the first German television channel ARD from the Jordanian capital Amman, the president of the Federal Intelligence Service of Germany Schindler recently held secret talks in Syria. In early May, Gerhard Schindler, along with the Head of BND counterterrorism Department, negotiated in Damascus on the resumption of cooperation between the two countries in the field of counter-terrorism.

The German intelligence services are interested in the information provided by their Syrian counterparts on radical Islamists operating in Western Europe. They generally support the opposition to Assad's government, and sooner or later get noticed by the secret police. Media reported that Schindler in the first place was interested in the arrested Islamists who have been trained in militants' camps and participated in combat activities, and therefore were capable of emerging in prosperous Europe.

Another Secret Service, Office for Protection of the Constitution of Germany (Bundesamts für Verfassungsschutz) identified approximately fifty European extremists - radical Wahhabi currently involved in a civil war in Syria. Having gained the necessary experience they would bring it to the Western countries. It is not ruled out that the latter concern became the last straw that made the leaders of the secret war reconsider their attitude towards the legitimate government of Syria, and at least in words, but express their support for Bashar al-Assad.
