Uzbekistan, Iran, Afghanistan Develop New Transit Route

Very soon Uzbekistan, Iran and Afghanistan jointly going to explore a new transit route as the countries already started a trilateral cooperation in the transit field. As per the reliable sources from Friday night Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister Mr. Abdulaziz Kamilov with some Uzbek specialists and officers are in Tehran. The main aim of this visit is to expand economic, trade and to make good relations with Iran because as per the latest decision the 60 percent of the cotton which Uzbekistan is exporting to the other countries of the world will cross through Iran territories. Also the Uzbek minister is supposed to sign new contract regarding transit routes, added sources.

The bilateral ties between the Iran and Uzbekistan is in much progress after the last year Iranian President's visit to Uzbekistan. It may be mentioned here that this was the first visit of Khaami to Uzbekistan since 1991.The two different delegation also visited Uzbekistan to expand economic and trade ties. As per the scheduled programme Mr. Kamilov will hand over an invitation of Uzbek president to Mr. Khatami also.He is supposed to met with his colleague in Iran Mr. Kamal Kharrazi and with the Secretary of National Security Council regarding illegal traffic of drug etc.
