US Under Secretary of State John Bolton will discuss in Moscow the prospects of the Iranian nuclear program's development. American Ambassador to Russia Alexander Vershbow told RIA Novosti that the high-ranking diplomat was arriving in Moscow on Monday afternoon and was to stay for two more days.
It is planned that John Bolton will hold meetings with Russian Atomic Energy Minister Alexander Rumyantsev, Russian Airspace Agency (Rosaviakosmos) head Yuri Koptev, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Mamedov and other officials.
Speaking on the aims of the US under secretary's visit to Moscow, Alexander Vershbow noted that Bolton was "coming to continue the dialogue with Russia on Iranian issues, and express concerns in regard to the Iranian nuclear program and Russia-Iran relations in that field." In accordance with Vershbow's information, the latest data received in Washington from the Iranian opposition, concerning the presence of secret facilities in Iran, where nuclear and missile technologies might be developed, "give us further grounds to believe that Iran works on nuclear armaments production technologies." "Bolton hopes to find a common approach with Russia to that issue," Alexander Vershbow emphasized.
