Famous French actor Pierre Richard wants to perform in a Russian film.
The actor announced this at a press conference as part of the Spirit of Fire international film debut festival in Khanty-Mansiisk (the Urals) on Tuesday evening.
It would be a thrilling acting experience, because you have fantastic directors, including young ones, Richard said. Even if I had to suffer from some discomfort, for instance, severe cold, it would be interesting, too, he added.
'The plot of the prospective film is important for me. But I am French, and can hardly play a Russian. If I played a Siberian man, no one would believe me. But I could play a Frenchman, facing different Russian hardships," Richard noted. "It could be of great interest to me," the actor stressed.
The French cinematographic delegation, participating in the festival, also includes Michelle Mercier and Joel Chapron.
On Wednesday the Spirit of Fire will show two films as part of the contest programme, the festival's press centre said. They are "Father and Son" by Jacob Berger and "Samsara" by Pan Nalin.
