Olympics turn into fashion show

The Olympics in Athens will become a real fashion parade.
Sofia Kokasalaki prepares costumes for the ceremony of opening the Olympics where famous singer Biork will perform, and the sisters Williams will participate in competitions when wearing dresses from fashion designers. Тhе Guardian would like to find out who will become the fashion symbol of Olympics-2004. Currently, there are 5 candidates for this.

First of all, Ian Torp, an Australian swimmer. He is good not only at swimming (3 gold medals at the last Olympics), but looks good when wearing underwear. Ian Torp appeared among such models as Ella McFerson and Sarah O’Hara on the photos by Herb Ritts. He also creates decorations from pearls for Aurore firm.

Then, Karmelo Anthony, a US basketball player. The Esquire included his name on the list of the “Best Dressed of 2004”. Melo who likes baseball caps and wide-lapelled coats, has been photographed with J-Z lately.

One more candidate for being an Olympics fashion symbol is Russian gymnast Svetlana Khorkina (on the photo). A hot-tempered gold medal winner, being too tall for gymnastics – 5 feet and 5 inches, Svetlana walks in the gymnastics hall as if it was a fashion podium. Svetlana was photographed topless for Russian Playboy, and they say that she is dreaming about a movie star career. Khorkina reminds another Russian female sportsman, Anna Kurnikova, but Khorkina wins competitions unlike her notorious compatriot.

One more candidate – London Donnovan, a US football player. He is photographed for the glossy magazines such as W and Vanity Fair, he likes Calvin Klein underwear, US company “Abercrombie & Fitch all-American” has interest in him.

One more candidate is high jumper Daniela Rat. She likes Marni and Dolce & Gabbana Рат, is 5 feet and 9 inches high, and looks well in chiffon dresses and in the outfit of London girls of 1990s – slinky waists and riding-breeches. She says she feel uncomfortable only when wearing costumes.
