US looses main cyberweapon

Hackers of the Shadow Brokers group claimed that they got access to cyberweapon, which is allegedly related to the US National Security Agency. As it is noted in the statement, they managed to find and hack the Equation Group, which is connected with the NSA, and stole malicious software, which was used for syber espionage.

The hackers published links to source code of some stolen programs. According to the New York Times, most of the experts on computer security, who got acquainted with it, concluded that hackers' statements may jibe with the facts. Alike programs were mentioned in secret documents of the NSA, which had been revealed by Edward Snowden three years ago.

Thus, the Shadow Brokers made part of stolen software publicly available, and promised to sell the rest to those who offer the highest price. Hackers assert that the Equation Group does not know what in particular was stolen, and expect creators of cyberweapons to take part in the auction by themselves.
