Putin to be chief guest at G20 summit

Gui Congyou, head of the Department of European-Central Asian Affairs at the Chinese Foreign Ministry, claimed that President of Russia Vladimir Putin will be the main guest in the Chinese city of Hangzhou during G20 summit. Vladimir Putin will arrive there at the invitation of Xi Jinping.

According to representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, the Russian leader and President of the People's Republic of China will hold a separate full-scale bilateral meeting during the summit. The event is being worked out by foreign ministries of the countries. Heads of he states will discuss results of Putin's visiting China in summer as well as new policies of Russia-China cooperation.

The diplomat also noted that 'presence of Russia at the summit is utterly important for China and the whole world as well. Without Russia it is impossible to restore world economy'. He also claimed that China and Russia are the main powers in Eurasia and their strategic alliance secures safety and balanced development all over the continent.
