Financial Times claimed that the Syrian troops in Raqqa may generate a clash between Russian and American forces in the capital of the ISIS fighters. The US is at opposition soldiers' backs, while Russia supports the government army. Two armies advancing Raqqa may carry out a simultaneous offence, trying to seize the strategically important city. However, Mikhail Aleksandrov, leading expert at the Center for Military and Political Studies in MGIMO, doubted such course of events. The expert believes that the US may provoke a conflict between government army and the Kurds. Forces of terror opposition, which are under the US control, may attack the Syrian army under the guise of Kurds.
