NATO demands to stop Russian operation in Syria

The Russian Aerospace Forces operation in Syria impedes settlement of the Syrian conflict. Such a viewpoint was stated by the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

According to him, 'intense Russian air strikes mainly targeting opposition groups in Syria are undermining the efforts to find a political solution to the conflict".

Secretary General believes that, NATO strongly supports all the efforts to come up with a political solution to the Syrian conflict.

However, Moscow hinders the military alliance.

Stoltenberg claimed that 'the increased Russian presence air activity in Syria is also causing increased tensions and violations of Turkish airspace. This creates risks and heightens tensions and is of course a challenge for NATO'.

Stoltenberg obviously believes that the actions of NATO, which hasn't been able to settle the conflict in Syria for some years so far, contribute far more to the peace establishment in the Republic.
