Putin signs Russian National Defense Plan

Vladimir Putin signed the decree on the  implementation of the Plan of Defense of the Russian Federation for 2016-2020. The document published on the official website of legal information says that the decree comes into force on the date of signing, from November 16.

The Defense Plan includes a set of interrelated military planning documents.

According to Vladimir Putin, "in January 2013, the first-ever national defense plan was approved.  It marked potential risks, threats to security of the state and regulated our actions on such basic issues as the development of the armed forces and the implementation of programs of armament, mobilization training and territorial defense".
