Assad troops oust ISIS from military airfield near Aleppo

Syrian official troops managed to break the siege of the Kuweyres military airfield. This strategically important object is situated in the North of Aleppo. The President Assad's army succeeded in gaining the object after a two-year siege.

First, there was freed the Sheikh Ahmadvillage, which is 2km away from the airbase, and then the airport itself. Fighters of the extremist 'Islamic State' group have been trying to assault it over a hundred times for two years so far.

Now, dozens of the IS fighters are eliminated, as well as units of the terrorists' military equipment. As we reported, the conflict broke out in the Syrian Arab Republic in 2011. As a result, more than 220,000 people have been killed.
