Obama meeting Jinping

The Chinese leader is going to visit Washington. The meeting of Xi Jinping and his American colleague should take place in September. But how will the talks be held? The relations between the US and China are not at their best today: the White House accuses Beijing of "economy manipulation", none of the US presidential candidates backed the Republican bank decision to lower the yuan rate, and the Chinese hackers were accused of massive attacks against the American networks.
 
Aleksandr Salitsky, chief research scientist at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations: "We should better see the results of the meeting, and not attach much importance. It is important as being first state visit of Xi Jinping to the United States. Some items on the agenda refer to bilateral relations on the prevention of global economy slipping into the full-scale crisis. The leaders of the Western and Eastern worlds may find some extra fields for cooperation, that will be also of interest to other countries, as well as Russia."
 
How can be evaluated the mutual accusations of the US and China on the latest economy collapse? Every side is sure, that it is not to put blame on.
 
Aleksandr Salitsky, chief research scientist at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations: "There has been created a corresponding bank of investments into infrastructure, which symbolizes the new Chinese introduction into the global economy, as well as investments increase into the real economy, rather than money sliding into the "overheated financial instruments".
 
Which stance does China prefer on North Korea and its Republican neighbour? The Korean peninsula is yet another tricky question for Washington and Beijing.
 
Aleksandr Salitsky, chief research scientist at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations: "The main relations, which have certain tension, are those of China and Japan. And what happens between two Koreas, I would call a demonstration of certain aggressive hostile intentions. The Chinese consider not only North Korea, but also the South to be of strategic importance."
 
Which turn can be expected from China? Although the present economic policy of Beijing fails, the "great-power feeling" of China was not abolished. Ambitions of the Republic still put its neighbours on guard.
 
Aleksandr Salitsky, chief research scientist at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations: "China does not aim at hegemony in Asia. It is sufficient for it to have independent neighbours. Chinese say openly that the Philippines are a puppet of Washington. But they do not say so about Vietnam, because it is not a puppet."
