Euro Leagues: Same old...

Little change at the top of the main European Leagues as the season gets well into its second half. Already in Spain, England and Germany we can see Barcelona, Manchester United and Bayern Munich sailing ahead on their own. Things are much tighter in Italy, France and Portugal...

La Liga 24 games

1 FC Barcelona 65 points; Atlético Madrid 53; Real Madrid 49. Wins for the top three maintain the status quo. A second-half brace by Messi saw off Granada 2-1 away after Ighalo gave the home side the lead; Atlético made up for last week's defeat at Rayo Vallecano with a 3-0 win at Valladolid and Rayo went down 2-0 by 12 minutes at Real Madrid's Bernabeu Stadium.

Premier League 26 games

1 Manchester United 65 points; 2 Manchester City 53; 3 Chelsea 49; 4 Tottenham Hotspur 48; 5 Arsenal FC 44.

Serie A 25 Games

1 Juventus 55 points; 2 Napoli, 51; 3 Lazio, 44; 4 AC Milan 44; 5 Inter  43. Only AC Milan took full advantage of the matchday, jumping ahead of Inter after a 2-1 win over Parma. Juve went down at Roma 1-0; Napoli could do no better than a home goalless draw against Sampdoria, Lazio went down 3-0 at Siena and Inter, 4-1 at Fiorentina.

Bundesliga 22 games

1 FC Bayern Munchen 57 points; 2 Borussia Dortmund, 42; 3 Leverkusen 41; 4 Eintracht Frankfurt 37. Eintracht lost ground in the leading group, while teams classified 1,2,3 claimed the three points, in the case of Dortmund, against Eintracht Frankfurt (3-0). Leverkusen beat Augsburg 2-1 and Bayern travelled to Wolfsburg, returning with the spoils (2-0).

Ligue 1 25 games

1 PSG 51 points; 2 Olympique Lyonnais, 48; 3 Olympique de Marseille, 46.

Paris Saint-Germain lost out at the top (2-3 at Sochaux), while Lyon and Marseille keep up the pressure with wins at Bordeaux (4-0) and at home against Valenciennes, 1-0, respectively.

Russian Premier League 19 games

CSKA (43), Anzhi Makhachkala (41) and Zenit St. Petersburg (38) are 1,2,3 in the Russian Premier League. CSKA beat Mordovia 2-1 in Moscow; Zenit and Anzhi drew 1-1 in St. Petersburg.

Portuguese Premier League 19 games

1 FC Porto 49 points, ahead of Benfica (second), 49 points on goal difference. 3 Paços de Ferreira, 35. FC Porto went to Aveiro to beat Beira-Mar 2-0, Benfica had a penalty awarded on 94' to beat Académica 1-0 and Paços de Ferreira continued its excellent season with a point at home against Nacional (Madeira).
