Sharapova catches and neutralizes a thief

During Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Championships in Madrid, Spain, Maria Sharapova decided to visit café Starbucks. Sitting in the café she noticed that a group of teenagers was heading to her. There were papers in their hands.

Sharapova thought that they were her fans and were going to get her autograph. However she was wrong.

One of the boys put a newspaper on her cell phone which was on the table and then took it with his other hand.

Maria Sharapova noticed the theft and decided to return her property. She rushed after the thief and with the help of the café’s security service caught the boy.

Sharapova decided not to report the theft to the police.

Maria says she caught kid who stole her phone at Starbucks in Madrid and then delivers these lines on her blog: "Quote of the week goes to moi, well actually it's more of a comeback line. Mike [Joyce] says 'Girls are like subways, they come and go every 5 minutes,' … to which I say 'Boys are like a parking lot. … They're either taken or handicapped."

Sharapova played the WTA tourament in Madrid on a 19-match winning streak and was the only player to win all three round-robin matches, but she lost to Justine Henin-Hardenne in the semi-finals.
