Gary Oldman and outraged Hollywood

Everybody has the right to tackle political correctness, given that he keeps telling politically correct stuff.

He is demonized since he talked to famous magazine Playboy. He talked too much, too frankly and the problem is that he had acknowledged that imprudence even during the interview! Since then he can't stop excusing himself for his "outrageous comments" and I believe Gary Oldman is wrong. The comments were not outrageous. They were courageous, and we know that in the West, courage is nowadays an outrage.

Yet Gary Oldman is not the first star to shock and challenge western political correctness agenda. This agenda has grown totalitarian and insane. But it was challenged by such great names as John Wayne in the past (responding too to Playboy in 1972), Marlon Brando (talking to Larry King in 1996), and recently by Brian Ferry, Lars von Trier and of course Roger Waters. Pink Floyd star was demonized too because he is a proud fan of the Palestinians. All these great names who risk a lot financially are much more courageous than, say, old witch Madonna, younger witch Lady Gaga or the current pope Francis...

So now, everybody is courageously lynching and criticizing Gary Oldman. He was himself aware of that bleak future when he spoke about the case of big and famous names as Alec Baldwin or Mel Gibson:

We all hide and try to be so politically correct. That's what gets me. It's just the sheer hypocrisy of everyone, that we all stand on this thing going, "Isn't that shocking?" [smiles wryly] All right. Shall I stop talking now? What else can we discuss?

But let us read what he said, talking like an experienced sceptic and bohemian Tory, about our idiot, arrogant and intolerant western world:

 I think we're up shit creek without a paddle or a compass. Culturally, politically, everywhere you look. I look at the world, I look at our leadership and I look at every aspect of our culture and wonder what will make it better. I have no idea...

This is what Oldman told about the showbiz industry:

What irritates me more is when people aren't respectful. There's a lot of nonsense behaviour, especially in a place like Hollywood. The money, the power, they create little monsters.

It even creates a sister monster! And this is what he said about the last lamentable -almost ridiculous- Oscar:

It's our culture now, absolutely. At the Oscars, if you didn't vote for 12 Years a Slave you were a racist. You have to be very careful about what you say. I do have particular views and opinions that most of this town doesn't share, but it's not like I'm a fascist or a racist.

Now about 'the Jews running Hollywood': it is by no way a criminal advice; it is barely an obvious, well-known and statistical fact.

I let Joel Stein from The LA Times instruct my readers on that perilous subject:

I have never been so upset by a poll in my life. Only 22% of Americans now believe "the movie and television industries are pretty much run by Jews," down from nearly 50% in 1964. The Anti-Defamation League, which released the poll results last month, sees in these numbers a victory against stereotyping. Actually, it just shows how dumb America has gotten. Jews totally run Hollywood.

Yes, we do agree: America has gotten very dumb; the entire west indeed too! The article can easily be consulted on the Web (19.12.2008).

In this article, Mr Stein added that:

Foxman said he is proud of the accomplishments of American Jews. "I think Jews are disproportionately represented in the creative industry. They're disproportionate as lawyers and probably medicine here as well," he said.

Of course Big Brother Foxman of the ubiquitous and compelling ADL has condemned Gary Oldman comments, even if the great actor was basically telling the same stuff than he! This is why political correctness is crap and this is why Oldman was right.

The rest is connected to the western practice of global media lynching: Assad is a monster; Le Pen is fascist; Putin is Hitler and so on. Same obscene lies for withering audiences made of dumb and dumber brains. And the rest is literature.

I'll give thee this plague for thy dowry: be thou as chaste as ice, as pure as snow, thou shalt not escape calumny.
