Violetta Ballirano, a Russian gymnast performing for team Italy, fell out of the window on the sixth storey on August 21. The teen girl landed on the roof of Nissan Qashqai vehicle parked near the entrance to the building, above the window. She was hospitalized with closed cranial trauma, brain concussion and numerous bone fractures.
The video made by the surveillance camera installed at the entrance to the apartment building showed that 15-year-old Russian gymnast Violetta Ballirano had fallen out of the window on the sixth storey three minutes after she had entered the building, Life News reports.
The young athlete, who was supposed to perform at the world championship in Moscow this coming autumn, was delivered in severe condition to the intensive care unit of a Moscow hospital.
The girl reportedly said that someone had pushed her out of the window. Violetta's mother said that she heard her daughter saying that to her before the girl elapsed into a coma. ER doctors heard those words too, Life News said.
However, police officers do not believe the mother of the teen gymnast.
"The girl lost consciousness immediately after the fall, she elapsed into a coma and we have not been able to interrogate her yet," a police officer said, the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper reports.
For the time being, investigators have only been able to determine that the girl had not taken a drop of alcohol that night. The police investigate all possible versions of the incident, including attempted murder as a result of the fight with the girl's boyfriend. It could also be possible that Violetta was practicing a risky exercise on a windowsill, lost her balance and fell down.
The incident took place on Novopeschanaya Street at about 22:00 o'clock. The Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper said that the gymnast had had a fight with her boyfriend shortly before the incident. "Violetta told her friends that she was going home, but she entered the neighboring entrance, went up to the sixth storey and threw herself out of the window," the newspaper wrote.
On Saturday, Violetta was celebrating her friend's birthday. She was staying at the party with her boyfriend Ivan. She reportedly had a fight with him during the party.
Next week, Violetta was supposed to go to Italy to take part in a competition there.
Violetta Ballirano, 15, is a master of rhythmic gymnastics. She failed to be a member of team Russia, but started performing for Italy, her father's homeland. The girl permanently resides in Russia with her mother.
